Wondering how to freshen up your lackluster training routine? Whether it’s maximizing your workout with new trainers and exercises, saving money on your gym membership while keeping your home routine exciting, or simply getting workout motivation delivered to your doorstep in the form of activewear and fitness outfits.

Here are some of the fitness trends to be on the lookout for in 2017, according to the American Council on Exercise (ACE)’s predictions and the trends we’ve noticed.

UFC Gyms Are Growing

Credit the popularity of the MMA sport and the fighters garnering plenty of attention in the media outside the Octagon—Ronda Rousey and Conor McGregor, we’re looking at you—but Millennials seem to want to learn how to train like them. UFC Gyms will open new locations in Hawaii, Miami, and Huntington Beach, Calif., and expand internationally as well, according to the ACE blog. Reebok is a sponsor of UFC athletes, and has licensed its name to Power Systems for a line of high-intensity strength-training equipment.

On-Demand Everything

The ACE blog said that the online workout video-on-demand category is likely to keep growing, and from what we’ve noticed, there are no signs of this industry slowing down. We love that fitness subscription sites are a growing trend! If you want to get in a tough workout from the comfort of your home and have access to A-list celeb trainers without paying celebrity prices, look to fitness subscription plans that you can pay monthly or a yearly fee that’s often way cheaper than most gym memberships. For a variety of types of programs—from dancing to strength workouts to yoga and more—we like DailyBurn.com. If you want to try boutique fitness classes that aren’t available in your hometown, consider Forte.Fit. You can also join studio live cycling classes around the country from your home if you purchase a Peloton Bike, and access on-demand rides.

The audio-based fitness app, Aaptiv, provides the motivation of a trainer to your headset, paired up with a heart-pumping playlist. We like it if you’re a solo runner who’s bored with her routine, if you want an affordable trainer to push you through a strength workout, or if want to take your yoga practice outside with the guidance of an instructor. It’s $9.99/month.

Experience Rides in Theater Settings

If you’re in the New York City area, you’re going to want to check out IMAXShift, an “immerse indoor cycling experience” in front of a massive screen with impressive audio. This Brooklyn-based studio is on our have-to-try list for 2017.

Women’s-Only Fitness Events

Consider focusing on a fitness component when you plan a girlfriend’s getaway this year. Active at Altitude is a Colorado-based company that has women’s running camps. The REI Outessa Summit is a customized women’s adventure getaway tailored for women, by women. Last year’s took place in Utah and California. You can also search for women’s only ski camps, mud runs like the Dirty Girl Mud Run around the country or even check out the Gritty Goddess obstacle course in Texas. We’re hoping to see this trend continue to grow.

Subscription Boxes for Fitness Products

Whether you’ve tried StitchFix for everyday fashion, Graze for customized snack boxes, or BirchBox for beauty, we think you’ll like the new trend of fitness products and workout clothing delivered to your front doorstep. But if you want to go one step beyond getting fitness clothing dropped off at your doorstep, how about getting a few workout outfits and athleisure looks that have been handpicked for you from a style editor based on your interests? Now that’s a cool service! FYTSO and SweatStyle are some of the more recent companies that will deliver handpicked activewear and fitness clothing items. Wantable Fitness is another brand to check out, which just added men’s fitness apparel to their service. If you just can’t get enough of the subscription craze, check out MySubscriptionAddiction.com, which has over 2,000 subscription services to browse.
